10-year old Camille Pointer has been taking piano lessons for the past three months at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. Camille shared with PAS that it has always been her dream to learn to play the piano given to her family by her grandmother, but the cost of piano lessons was prohibitive for her parents. During a recent visit to the Settlement Music School by PAS, the bond built between Camille and her instructor Regina was unmistakable; Regina is a kind, patient and caring teacher and Camille is an eager student with a strong desire to soak up as much knowledge as she can to continue her development as a pianist. Regina boasts, “Camille has continued to excel in her lessons since day one…she always comes to practice with a smile on her face!” Camille’s mother expressed her gratitude to Regina and the Settlement Music School and said that she has noticed a wonderful difference in her daughter’s demeanor, “She holds her head up high; she has confidence now!”
